Maeve is taking a lot of collateral damage this chapter, and there is still plenty more huts to knock down.
Perhaps you remember that Sir Perrane got his little golden orb stolen from him in chapter 5, but being blue and angry he didn't really think to check which is unfortunate in his current situation.
