It sounds like Maeve has been a bad little fauni this last decade, but not like "burn down and then flood the whole kingdom" bad, which is the scale Perrane is used to working with.  I would dare say Perrane would consider the doings of most feral fauni quite inconsequential. But there is something about Maeve that he is interested in and Kay is forgetting the obvious here.
